Real Men
Ryan C. MacPherson ∕ assoc. prof. of History at Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato, MN
“It’s time for men to stand courageously in the Lord. Real men change diapers, as Luther was fond of remarking, and real men also instruct their families in the Christian faith. And real men support their wives, daughters, and sisters so well that they render abortion unthinkable in their midst. When men lead, provide, and protect, women will not feel vulnerable, afraid, or alone. When men are men, children have their needs met.”
Speaking Up For Life
Rev. Mark Jeske ⁄ Time of Grace
“The sanctity of marriage and the family relation are the cornerstone of our American society and civilization.” President Rutherford B. Hayes
“Traditional marriage … is ordained by God, one man and one woman. People say if you look in the Old Testament, men had several wives. That was not God’s intent. He made a beautiful design for the family. But Satan came in and began to get some things tangled up. It took a very powerful and loving God to send His only begotten Son to shed His blood and to correct that.” Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and pastoral associate and director of African-American outreach for Priests for Life and Gospel of Life Ministries
“Our society badly needs the witness of God’s Word to regain a sense of appreciation for His designs for marriage and the raising of children. Fathers, don’t sit around sulking, waiting for the cards and gifts. Commit to your woman and lift her up in honor. Support, mentor, and lead your children … know that you will have God’s mighty Spirit to help you.”

Just Beat an Incumbent State Legislator
by Steven Ertelt ⁄ Charleston, WV ⁄ LifeNews.com
If you’re concerned about the future of the country and want to know if the next generation of Americans cares about pro-life issues, look no further than the state of West Virginia. There, pro-life 17-year-old Saira Blair, who will graduate this month, ran on a pro-life platform to beat an incumbent state legislator.
Blair gives hope to pro-lifers wondering if teenagers really “get it” and want to make a difference for life.
As the Washington Post reports:
She posts photos of her smoothie habit on Instagram, volunteers at the Martinsburg VA hospital and helps raise money for the Make-a-Wish foundation. She will not be eligible to vote until July.
But on Tuesday, she beat a sitting state delegate who was seeking a third term in office.
With all 13 precincts in her Martinsburg-area district reporting, Blair beat state Del. Larry Kump (R) by an 872-728 vote margin.
Blair campaigned on an antiabortion, pro-Second Amendment platform, offering her cellphone number to constituents and pledging not to go negative. She spent about $4,800 on her campaign, state finance records show (Kump, a former lobbyist, only spent $1,800 on his reelection bid).
I think I’m fully capable of doing the job, and I don’t think it’s rocket science by any means — not if you just listen to the people,” Blair told the Martinsburg Herald-Mail this week.
