IRS Strikes Deal With Atheist Group to Monitor Content of Sermons

by Alliance Defending Freedom | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 7/25/14

The next time your pastor delivers a pro-life sermon or urges the congregation to stand up for pro-life values in the political or public arena, he could be taken to task by the IRS.

Alliance Defending Freedom asked the Internal Revenue Service Tuesday to release all documents related to its recent decision to settle a lawsuit with an atheist group that claims the IRS has adopted new protocols and procedures for the investigation of churches.

Abortionist Who Failed to Report Rape of 13-Year-Old Stopped From Doing Abortions

by Steven Ertelt | Indianapolis, IN | LifeNews.com | 7/24/14

Ulrich Klopfer who faces charges that he delayed reporting an abortion on a 13-year-old girl in South Bend, Indiana, in January 2013, has been stopped from doing abortions.

Indiana law requires reports on abortions provided to girls younger than 14 to be submitted within three days. Klopfer submitted the report six months after the abortion, according to state records. Klopfer potentially faces a fine of $1,000 and 180 days in jail if convicted of the Class B misdemeanor . . .

Life Affirming News

Friend of Life,

Today, America’s highest court unanimously affirmed the right to free speech for sidewalk counselors outside abortion clinics.

This is a huge win for pro-lifers across the nation!  This decision strikes down the Massachusetts buffer zone designed to bar pro-lifers from standing near the entrances of abortion centers. At a time when it seems like injustice runs rampant, it is refreshing to know that more lives will be saved as a result of this ruling.

Pro-life sidewalk counselors can continue to offer the help and hope that so many young girls and women desperately seek, often times thinking abortion is their only option.

Live Action News Update

Check out the coverage of our explosive SEXED releases.

In Live Action’s latest investigative footage, Planned Parenthood workers tell 15-year-old girls how to engage in dangerous BDSM sex practices, as well as recommend specific porn sites and local sex shops.

http://liveactionnews.org/latest-undercover-video-shows-planned-parenthoods-oppression-of-women/

One local station went to the streets of Indianapolis to ask moms about their opinion of this shocking video.  Here’s one response:

It’s no wonder each generation seems to get further and further away from the principles of family and decency and self-respect, when we are trying to teach our youth to be no more than an – animals don’t even act that way.  I can’t even degrade animals that way.

Planned Parenthood threatens lawmakers to kill pro-life amendments

LiveActionNews

California Planned Parenthood affiliates launched an alert to members of the state legislature, urging lawmakers to kill all pro-life measures, including amendments that would ban sex-selective abortions. The memo, dated June 12, stated that the Golden State is a “pro-choice state,” and amendments to restrict abortion would greatly threaten abortion access.

What You Can Do To Help Stop Planned Parenthood

  • Appreciate God’s design for human sexuality and pass that understanding and appreciation on to your children.
  • Help educate others about PP’s true nature and agenda, they in fact are the largest abortion provider.
  • Be alert to Planned Parenthood secretly opening an abortion center in our community under an assumed name in order to receive zoning approval.
  • Let your public officals, city council members, county commissioners, state legislators, members of congress and U.S. president know that you do not want your tax dollars going to PP.
  • Contact your school board members and ask them to keep Planned Parenthood out of local schools. If that is unsuccessful, you have the right to request equal time to share the abstinence/pro-life viewpoint with students.

Let us keep Fort Wayne abortion free!

Criminal cases move forward against Indiana and Georgia criminal abortionists

This has been a busy week for criminal abortionists. The cases of Charles Rossman and Ulrich Klopfer, in Georgia and Indiana, respectively, both moved forward. Rossman heads to prison and it appears that Klopfer may do the same.

Senate Democrats Pushing Bill to Wipe Out Every Single Pro-Life Law on Abortion

by William Saunders and Mary Harned | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com

Few Americans are aware that a “Gosnell Prerogative Act” has been introduced in Congress.  This bill would permit the grisliest abortion providers, like the now-convicted murderer, Kermit Gosnell, to set the standard of care for abortion.

Unsurprisingly, this bill is not actually called the “Gosnell Prerogative Act” instead, S.1696 is deceptively titled the “Women’s Health Protection Act.”  However, it is difficult to imagine a bill less protective of women and their unborn children.

Real Men

Ryan C. MacPherson    assoc. prof. of History at Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato, MN

“It’s time for men to stand courageously in the Lord. Real men change diapers, as Luther was fond of remarking, and real men also instruct their families in the Christian faith. And real men support their wives, daughters, and sisters so well that they render abortion unthinkable in their midst. When men lead, provide, and protect, women will not feel vulnerable, afraid, or alone. When men are men, children have their needs met.”

Speaking Up For Life

Rev. Mark Jeske  ⁄  Time of Grace

“The sanctity of marriage and the family relation are the cornerstone of our American society and civilization.” President Rutherford B. Hayes

“Traditional marriage … is ordained by God, one man and one woman. People say if you look in the Old Testament, men had several wives. That was not God’s intent. He made a beautiful design for the family. But Satan came in and began to get some things tangled up. It took a very powerful and loving God to send His only begotten Son to shed His blood and to correct that.” Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and pastoral associate and director of African-American outreach for Priests for Life and Gospel of Life Ministries

“Our society badly needs the witness of God’s Word to regain a sense of appreciation for His designs for marriage and the raising of children. Fathers, don’t sit around sulking, waiting for the cards and gifts. Commit to your woman and lift her up in honor. Support, mentor, and lead your children … know that you will have God’s mighty Spirit to help you.”

On the anniversary of the conviction, Indiana Right to Life urges Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN) to cosponsor the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in the U.S. Senate.

Just Beat an Incumbent State Legislator

by Steven Ertelt  ⁄  Charleston, WV ⁄  LifeNews.com

If you’re concerned about the future of the country and want to know if the next generation of Americans cares about pro-life issues, look no further than the state of West Virginia. There, pro-life 17-year-old Saira Blair, who will graduate this month, ran on a pro-life platform to beat an incumbent state legislator.

Blair gives hope to pro-lifers wondering if teenagers really “get it” and want to make a difference for life.

As the Washington Post reports:

She posts photos of her smoothie habit on Instagram, volunteers at the Martinsburg VA hospital and helps raise money for the Make-a-Wish foundation. She will not be eligible to vote until July.

But on Tuesday, she beat a sitting state delegate who was seeking a third term in office.

With all 13 precincts in her Martinsburg-area district reporting, Blair beat state Del. Larry Kump (R) by an 872-728 vote margin.

Blair campaigned on an antiabortion, pro-Second Amendment platform, offering her cellphone number to constituents and pledging not to go negative. She spent about $4,800 on her campaign, state finance records show (Kump, a former lobbyist, only spent $1,800 on his reelection bid).

I think I’m fully capable of doing the job, and I don’t think it’s rocket science by any means — not if you just listen to the people,” Blair told the Martinsburg Herald-Mail this week.

Abortion Compounds the Grief of Many Women

Pope Francis / LifeNews Update

Pope Francis has won accolades for combining compassion and concern for unborn children killed in abortions and women who face grief and anguish after an abortion.

The leader of the Catholic Church has urged Christians to do more to reconnect women who have had abortions with God and the church and he continued that admonition of grace and mercy today in a meeting with Catholic bishops from South Africa.

“Abortion compounds the grief of many women who now carry with them deep physical and spiritual wounds after succumbing to the pressures of a secular culture which devalues God’s gift of sexuality and the right to life of the unborn,” he said. “The sacrament of reconciliation, in particular, must be rediscovered as a fundamental dimension of the life of grace.”

And Then There Were None

LifeNews Update

In a powerful and moving new video, Abby Johnson, the former manager of a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in southeast Texas reads a letter to an aborted baby she watched die in an abortion.

Since converting to the pro-life perspective and getting out of the abortion industry, Johnson has led a new organization called And Then There Were None, designed to assist other abortion facility workers to quit their jobs and provide them the spiritual, job placement, and other resources they need to leave their current places of employment.

In this powerful new video, Abby talks about her spiritual journey to find healing, grace and forgiveness from God after working in a position where she oversaw the destruction of so much human life. The letter is a powerful testimony of grace and mercy and seeking forgiveness.

“I’m stricken with sorry,” Johnson says. “I’m sorry I didn’t defend you and I’m sorry I stood there and watched you die.”

Doctors Groups Promote Denying Medical Treatment to Elderly and Disabled Patients

LifeNews Update

In “Treatment Cost Could Influence Doctors’ Advice,” the New York Times’s Andrew Pollack reports that several major physician groups are poised to begin openly considering cost when seeking to deny life-saving treatment—and that some of them are explicitly calling for factoring in patients’ “quality of life” in judging cost-effectiveness.

Last month the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association released a report calling for the use of “Quality Adjusted Life Years” or QALYs in assessing whether the added life associated with a treatment is worth the cost. This is the often criticized assessment process for approving or disapproving particular treatments employed by Great Britain’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

It is essential to understand what is meant by the term “quality of life” to understand why this move is so dangerous.

AQALY would be used (and is used abroad) to deny treatments to patients against their will based on their age, expected length of life, or of the patient’s present or predicted disability or quality of life. Under such a system someone in a wheelchair, for example, is determined to have a lower quality of life compared with an able-bodied person. Thousands of subjective judgments enter mathematical equations – ones that treat those with disabilities of lower value, simply because those making judgments “would not want to live that way.”

Those developing QALY’s combine these value judgments and only those they deem quality lives can get more costly life-saving treatments. This is extremely dangerous territory fraught with dangers.

Speaking Up For Marriage

Adriane Dorr, editor of the Lutheran Witness

“So, how do we as a church reclaim holding out for marriage?… We pray. We repent. We spend lots of time in God’s Word. We receive the sacrament regularly. We talk about it. We talk about it with our kids when they’re young. We don’t fall prey to the ‘Well, they’re going to do it anyway, so I may at least tell them how to be protected.’ No. We tell our young women about their worth and their value. We tell our young men what it means to be a man. We lift up the values of waiting. And we wait with them.”

The Danger Of Compromise

Decision May 2014

Increasingly churches, Christian organizations and individual believers feel pressure to adapt to the culture instead of obeying what God has clearly stated in His Word. If we value popularity more than obedience, we will invariably present a false gospel that belittles the seriousness of sin and our need for God’s forgiveness and salvation. Never has the need been greater for Christians to speak the truth to a world stumbling in darkness.
