A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Posted By on April 25, 2012

Dear Carolyn Beitz,

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. It certainly is when telling the story of an unborn baby’s development. So what happens when you combine the visual with words of the mighty pen? I’m convinced that both mediums can be doubly powerful in changing hearts and minds about abortion.

I recently came across a brief video—just over four minutes—called Interview with an Unborn Child. The film contains breathtaking images of the unborn child inside the womb and is combined with a voiceover of a compelling poem authored by Dr. Mojdeh Shirvanian.

Here’s what makes the poem special: It’s a result of beautiful images while demonstrating how an unborn child would respond to facing an abortion. We get to hear the baby’s firsthand response with his “voice” in the clip.

Here’s a portion of the chilling “interview:”

My loudest cry is in silence. My most beautiful dreams. Turn into nightmares. My greatest pain will not reach the ears of anyone. Not even my mother. I will never know who I am. Only He who has made me different from all others will know me. He sees my talents and who I would become. Nobody else will ever know me. Not even my mother . . . And except for death, no one will kiss me. Not even my mother.

It’s absolutely heartbreaking to hear these words within the context of the deaths of 1.2 million babies every year. You’ll have to watch the video in its entirety to see what comes next. Click here.

The perspective portrayed in the video isn’t one you’ll hear from Planned Parenthood or the rest of the abortion industry, especially while they’re occupied with cashing in on a violent and deadly business. Yet, it’s the child’s voice—his perspective—that’s a necessary part of the conversation on abortion.

Facts are a stubborn thing—over 3,200 babies killed every day. Every 21-seconds another heart is stilled by abortion. The abortion industry prefers to hide this grim reality brought about by their greed for blood money, but Dr. Shirvanian hits it spot-on in a way that’s thoughtful and engaging. In fact, her video is part of a campaign to educate women—particularly in Iran— about abortion’s horrifying reality. Her message, however, is one that knows no borders.

Please watch this brief film and then share it with your family and friends through email, Facebook, and Twitter. When it comes to the battle of protecting the babies and their mothers, it’s tools like this that can melt the hearts of even the most dedicated pro-abortion person.

May the pain in our hearts caused by abortion be one of the motivations for making this film go viral.

PS Many of you contacted Notre Dame about their “promotion” of pro-abortion organizations to students looking for summer internships (see email here). Several of you passed along Notre Dame’s full-throated denial of everything. However, the facts have been well documented thanks to Bill Dempsey, Executive Director of Project Sycamore, the sole organization devoted to nourishing and preserving the Catholic identity of Notre Dame. Here’s a link to information documenting that Notre Dame has indeed funded past internships of pro-abortion organizations, as well as other details mentioned in my previous email. I hope you will take the time to read his detailed report. Click here

How to End Abortion Overnight

My friend Chuck Colson, who is making progress following surgery but still in ICU, published a provocative guest column a few weeks ago on his Breakpoint website. It was penned by a gentleman named Rolley Haggard. The writer made a bold pronouncement.

If every Sunday, in every pulpit, in every evangelical church across America, ministers would devote one minute—ONE MINUTE—to decrying the evil of abortion on demand, such universal solidarity within the ranks of Christian leadership would accomplish two things, maybe three.

Three Abortion Clinic Workers Quit Jobs, 69 Have Since 2007

Posted By on April 25, 2012

Just four days left in this campaign! I have HUGE news today, but I must keep some details confidential.

THREE MORE abortion workers have QUIT THEIR JOBS! That makes a total of EIGHT during this campaign … and a total of 69 who’ve left the abortion industry during 40 Days for Life campaigns since 2007!

Please keep these three people in your prayers as they seek new employment and go through this transition in their lives.

I also have good news from Virginia and some quick stories of babies saved (including another set of twins). Here are the reports from the front lines.
