A person who does evil to his neighbor is not the only one guilty under the [the 5th] commandment. It also applies to anyone who can do his neighbor good, prevent or resist evil, and save his neighbor so that no bodily harm or hurt happens to him-yet does not do this. . . . Martin Luther: LCI 189
HOW TO END ABORTION OVERNIGHT: My friend Chuck Colson, who is making progress following surgery bue.t still in ICU, published a provocative guest column a few weeks ago on his Breakpoint website. (E.D. since this article was written Chuck Colson has died.) It was penned by a gentleman named Rolley Haggard. The writer made a bold pronouncement.
Here is a condensed version of what he wrote:
If every Sunday, in every pulpit, in every evangelical church across America, ministers would devote one minute—ONE MINUTE—to decrying the evil of abortion on demand, such universal solidarity within the ranks of Christian leadership would accomplish two things, maybe three. (more…)

The groundwork for health care rationing in Switzerland has been laid. Health care costs are rising and personnel is at a premium in Switzerland, a situation unlikely to improve and leading to questions whether treatments should be rationed. In addition, a judge recently ruled to limit the money that could be spent on a patient’s care. The judgment, criticized as arbitrary, has forced health care specialists to consider how best to evaluate the benefits of their patients’ treatment. The answer could come with the possible implementation of a “Quality of Life Adjusted Life Years” (QALY) criteria. This evaluation process is what bioethicist Wesley J. Smith calls the “discriminatory form of withholding treatment based on subjective quality of life judgmentalism.”
QALY criteria assumes that one year of life in perfect health has a value of one. Any health problem shifts that value below one. A treatment could be denied even if it increases life expectancy because the patient’s quality of life is considered low. Included in the evaluation are so-called “social” values. “In other words,” Smith warns, “popular prejudices become incorporated into healthcare policy.”

The Pennsylvania Department of Health ordered the closing of two abortion clinics with ties to abortionist Steven Chase Brigham.
Allentown Women’s Services lost its lease after the facility was cited for “infrastructure failure.” The health department’s closure order stated, “… the Department of Health long has witnessed a chronic inability by AMS to comply with the most fundamental statutory and regulatory requirements. These recent events have shown that AMS is unwilling or unable to comply even with the most basic requirements of the law established and designed to assure the health and safety of the patients.”
American Women’s Services in Pittsburgh, also connected with Brigham, closed its doors after it failed to report the resignation of the clinic’s medical director. Abortion services at that location ended on April 17.
Brigham continues to operate abortion facilities in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.

President Matthew Harrison posted this on his Facebook page on April 19, 2012: “A rather amazing event in Ft. Wayne. Lutherans support Catholics on HHS Mandate.”
On his blog, Mercy Journeys with Pastor Harrison, the following was posted:
From the LCMS Reporter online.
Catholic bishop ‘overwhelmed’ by Lutheran support
By Paula Schlueter Ross
Roman Catholic Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades told news reporters he was “really overwhelmed” when a group of some 250 people — mostly pastors and members of Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod congregations in the Fort Wayne, Ind., area — greeted him with letters and words of support April 17 in Fort Wayne.

Dear Friends of Life,
I hope you all had a blessed Easter and are enjoying this beautiful Spring. The Live Action team has been hard at work, preparing for the next wave of investigative video releases, which we will update you on in coming weeks.
With the help of God’s grace and your efforts, we are seeing great changes in the world today. Most especially, more women are standing up against the mainstream lie that they “need” abortion to be liberated. In a recent article I wrote for Politico, “Battle Hymn of the Anti-Abortion Feminist,” I was able to give a voice to pro-life feminists, who find true emancipation in affirming the gift of life. While the media and news outlets, like Politico, would often like to ignore the pro-life majority in our country, we must continue to persevere past media bias and speak out on behalf of life in every way we can.
In the words of Blessed Pope John Paul II, “We are the Easter people, and hallelujah is our song.” We must continue to stand firm for life and strive to reach places that have otherwise been impossible, like getting a pro-life feminist article published in Politico. The joyous occasion of Christ’s Resurrection uplifts our hearts by reminding us of the gift of life here on earth and the promise of eternal life through Christ. As the “Easter people,” we should always remember to rejoice in this gift of life and to defend all persons, both born and unborn.
Thank you for all you do to protect life. May God bless you and your family this Easter season.
For Life,
Lila Rose
