Pennsylvania Closes Abortion Facilities with Ties to Notorious Abortionist

Posted By on April 29, 2012

The Pennsylvania Department of Health ordered the closing of two abortion clinics with ties to abortionist Steven Chase Brigham.

Allentown Women’s Services lost its lease after the facility was cited for “infrastructure failure.” The health department’s closure order stated, “… the Department of Health long has witnessed a chronic inability by AMS to comply with the most fundamental statutory and regulatory requirements. These recent events have shown that AMS is unwilling or unable to comply even with the most basic requirements of the law established and designed to assure the health and safety of the patients.”

American Women’s Services in Pittsburgh, also connected with Brigham, closed its doors after it failed to report the resignation of the clinic’s medical director. Abortion services at that location ended on April 17.

Brigham continues to operate abortion facilities in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.
